Like any Amaryllis, to get the most out of Hippeastrum 'Giant Amadeus' by growing it in a gritty free-draining compost mix in a pot placed in bright but filtered light. The bulbs respond to temperature, so you can control its growth by placing in a cooler room to delay it, or positioning it in a warmer spot to bring on flowering sooner. You’ll be rewarded with large, impactful blooms growing on sturdy stems, each topped with multiple flowers. All you then need to do is place your Hippeastrum 'Giant Amadeus' in a prime position so you can gaze at it whenever you need a winter pick-me-up.
