Dahlia 'Wine Eyed Jill'

Dahlia 'Wine Eyed Jill'

So many colours yet still so subtle! The perfect pompom-like flowers of Dahlia 'Wine Eyed Jill' offer an ever-changing blend of cream, peach, and pink, with a delicate smokey eye at the centre. With its painterly look,Ā Dahlia 'Wine Eyed Jill' makes a stylish and elegant addition to the middle or back of a border, where it will bloom long and hard from midsummer right through until the first frosts. Striking in form yet gentle in colouring; a winning combination!Ā Ā

Originating from Central and South America, dahlias are half-hardy and need help to get through our winters. Once the first frosts have blackened the foliage, cut right back and, if you have heavy soil or live somewhere prone to hard frosts, lift and store the Dahlia 'Wine Eyed Jill' tubers in a greenhouse or shed. If you have well-draining soil or live in a milder region, you may get away with leaving them in the ground with a thick layer of mulch.Ā
