Oxalis adenophylla
Oxalis adenophylla is a pretty and petite alpine plant, commonly known asĀ sauer klee, Chilean Oxalis or silver shamrock, has pretty fresh pink blooms that almost appear trumpet like, with five petals and dark mauve markings that sit within the throat of the delicate blooms. The foliage of Oxalis adenophylla is just as interesting as the flowers with glaucus heart shaped leaves that are joined together at the tip creating a fan like habit.
Sauer klee is a compact variety that behaves itself well in the border, and does not spread itself too wide, and is therefore a great candidate for pots and raised beds. This variety enjoys being in a well-drained fertile soil Avoid planting anywhere that is wet during Winterādespite being hardy this may cause damage to the bulb. A small plant once established, reaching 10cm tall and only 20cm wide, Oxalis adenophylla will thrive in a sunny or part shaded location and will flower during the Summer months.
