For a stunning late spring or early summer perennial peony, the 75-year-old Paeonia 'Vogue' is still the one to beat. It produces a fully double flower, comprising very large pale rose-pink petals, gradually becoming white. Many of the petals will have the merest hint of a crimson edge, while the slightly turned-back outer petals have a silvery backing, given an attractive sheen. A few yellow stamens may be seen poking through from the depths of the bloom’s centre. 'Vogue's flower itself can be as much as 35cm across, and that is large! In addition, the flowers are fragrant, which is a real bonus.  

The dark green leaves of Paeonia lactiflora 'Vogue' are divided into lance-shaped leaflets, and they remain a good, healthy colour right up until the frosts of autumn. This peony will grow well in either full sun or part shade.
