Tulip 'Vovos'
Soft and blousy with antique colouring, Tulip 'Vovos' sets the tone early in a garden for other big, billowing, romantic blooms such as roses, peonies, and oriental poppies. Unashamedly sumptuous, Tulip 'Vovos' has some of the largest flowers we have seen in a tulip. It simply must be seen to be believed!Ā Ā
One of the nationās favourite bulbs, tulips are ideal for bridging the gap between the often delicate and dainty early spring flowers, and the bigger, bolder blooms of summer. Give yourĀ Tulip 'Vovos' bulbs a sunny, well-draining spot and try to plant as late in the year as possible (November and December are ideal). This is to avoid exposing the newly emerging leaves to tulip fire, a fungal disease which is active during the warmth of autumn. Plant pointy side up at a depth twice the height of the bulb, and around 8cm apart. If you have heavy, clay soil consider growing yours in a container filled with gritty compost.
